September 2014  I was asked to direct two trailers for the Octagon Theatre, Bolton.

One of the the plays- directed by Olivier Award winning director David Thacker, featuring actors Richard Graham (Titanic, Gangs of New York) and Colin Conner (Peaky Blinders, Foyles War)- was RC Sherriff’s classic, Journey’s End.

The production enjoyed full capacity shows and a four star review in The Guardian.

FACT: The Electric Blanket

The Electric Blanket project aimed to teach elderly citizens computer skills through creative activity. A six month-long programme funded by YOUR housing, my job was to visit sheltered housing schemes across the North of England- on a weekly basis with ten iPads- and teach participants how to use a tablet computer.

Working alongside art collective Re-Dock, group members then used their new skills to create digital art, which was exhibited at FACT.

Liverpool Echo: Igor Biscan Front Page

Last year a story I wrote for the Liverpool Echo was published on its front page. Whilst researching international footballers that had formerly played on Merseyside, I uncovered the story about Igor Biscan assaulting a taxi driver via a Zagreb-based newspaper. The news item was subsequently ran across international media, including BBC and Sky Sports.

24 Kitchen Street

24 Kitchen Street is a new club in the docklands of Liverpool. The brief for this video was to capture the essence of their ‘Hot Plate Carnival’; a reggae and dancehall night with lots of airhorns.

The Liverpool Echo

In 2015 I began writing for Merseyside’s local newspaper, The Liverpool Echo. Part of the Trinity Mirror Group, it has one of the largest regional circulations in the UK. Employed in a freelance capacity, I’ve had a number of articles published in the newspaper and online, which you find here.

Pitching ideas, meeting deadlines and attending content meetings provided great experience. I continue to write New York related stories from America.

The Urban Goals Project

Urban Goals is a photography project undertaken by Michael Kirkham, who for the last two years has snapped street football frames across the UK. From Newcastle to London, Kirkham has trawled Britain’s inner cities in search of goals painted on the side of houses, shops- anywhere with the capacity, pretty much.

I’ve written the book’s introduction, which also features on the website homepage.
